Daily five & daily cafe
The Daily Five and Daily CAFE are classroom structures created by authors Gail Boushey and Joan Moser. They are geared toward fostering literacy independence in elementary grades. Below are two videos demonstrating how real teachers implement the structures in their classrooms. The Daily CAFE is based on the Daily Five, and they are therefore used best in conjunction with each other. As a beginning teacher, I plan to use these structures to encourage my students to set literacy goals independently and co-dependently (with me) and reflect on these goals together. These structures include all important literacy and comprehension techniques and are therefore a well-rounded, well-planned, reliable resource for teachers. In addition I look forward to implementing these structures in my future classrooms.
